Have fun learning while Sheltering In Place

Reader's Theatre - Great for Singers, Readers, Actors

And Everyone In Between!

Reader's Theatre is for emerging readers and those who read well already! This will help your young reader learn to read aloud with confidence and read with better comprehension, expression and fluency.  Reader’s Theatre is a fun way to keep your kids reading and creating, using their imagination, gaining fluency and confidence when reading aloud and we will all see each other and laugh and create together with each other online.

Details:  Parents will need to assist younger children.  We will perform 2 short stories or 1 long story per class.

Please print out, and highlight your student's assigned role lines and prepare either props or costume pieces for the reading class.  Do not have them memorize their lines – rather run through the words with them to help them understand how to pronounce and comprehend the lines.  We will meet all together via Zoom and go through some vocal and physical warm ups for vocal projection, enunciation, dramatic interpretation(!), timing and natural rhythm and getting the story across with just our words.

Classes will run for  (40) minutes, please be on time and even if your student doesn't have time to prepare, it’s all good! They’re still reading aloud and learning how to comprehend and tell a story  This is designed to be a supportive and fun way to learn. Please join us!
